We have been working on this for the last two years. From fabrics to fits, to colours, the washes, vintage finishing, the whole lot. BUT something happened that we didn’t expect. 

The last garment dyer who could reactive dye garments at temperature closed its doors for the last time. 

So we faced two options, either change course or do something that felt so wrong, I outright refused to even listen to the idea. 

Whilst I love manufacturing in England, it’s not always possible because the infrastructure just doesn’t exist anymore. 

Garment dyeing at temperature is one of those things we just can’t do in the UK. I honestly really struggled with the idea of producing these garments abroad, but at the same time I knew there is only one way to bring this lost art back to the UK. To learn from the best wash houses in the world, and hope we generate enough demand that maybe one day in the future we have the skills, knowledge, and demand to reopen one of those lost UK wash houses. 

Whilst the majority of our garments will always be made in the UK, we have produced a collection of sweats and tees in Turkey, working with one of the most renowned garment dyers in the world, in the hope we sell enough, we learn enough, we can generate enough demand that we can one day bring the lost art back to the UK.
