Tips to help keep your T-shirt stay looking in its prime for a long, long time.

The search is over.

You’ve found the perfect organic Supima cotton T-shirt. It fits like a glove, it holds its shape and its brilliant white.

But, over time, even high-quality T-shirts can start to show signs of wear and tear. These quick tips will help your new favourite tee stay looking at its best.

Separate your laundry

We’ve all been there. A pair of pink knickers or a stray patterned sock has crept into your all-white wash, giving everything a slight tinge. Keep your whites and coloured laundry separate to avoid colourfast items leaking dye particles. This includes mostly-white clothes – even if something has thin stripes or a small print, don’t throw it in with your all-whites.

Avoid overloading

Don’t stuff your washing machine – clothes need space to move freely, which allows the water to circulate and properly clean your clothes. Aim for two-thirds full.

Lie flat

T-shirts can go in the dryer but go easy – you don’t want to make it too dry because it can weaken the material fibres. Instead, remove any excess moisture before laying your T-shirt flat to dry, shape it on a thick, clean bath towel, and roll it up from the bottom, pressing out water as you go.

Wash regularly

Like most things in life, moderation is key. Wash a T-shirt too often and the process will break down the fabric; don’t wash them often enough sweat and grime will build up over time. The solution? A happy medium. Aim for washing after every other wear – unless you’ve worn it while doing exercise or during a tomato-throwing festival.

So what are you waiting for? Bag yourself a Supima cotton T-shirt that will stand the test of time.
